Tiny Jewel 3 refining color and shape

Continued with adding detail and refining color and shape. This is where I started working on making the shape and color match what I saw in ParadigmParadox's photo. I used a mix of 'real dry brush' acrylic and color pencil in Corel and went back and forth between light, dark and medium colors with very small, short brush strokes to get the soft feather feel in the painting. Then I went in with the blender brush I mentioned previously to very carefully blend the strokes. I had to be careful here because if I blended it too much I'd loose detail. I kept the blending to the 'center' of each feather or feathered area. I even had to redo a couple areas 3 times because I ended up with a scaly reptile look. This took at least an hour and a half to two hours. O_O
